Part of the journey is the end.
We made it everyone. We made it to the season finale of Mighty Ducks: Game Changers. It wasn’t that fun, I did not enjoy my time here. But we did it. I also just got my vaccine today and I already took a nap so I am fired up, baby.
As always, let’s do a recap. Alex and Emilio Estevez may or may not fuck, who knows anymore, the Don’t Bothers somehow made it to States even though they’re terrible. My prediction is they still won’t win and they’ll come in second or something but they’ll still be happy and proud. But I’ve been wrong with my predictions throughout this whole series, so who knows.
Episode 10: State of Play
The Don’t Bothers are winning a bunch of games at States. They now have the semis and if they win, they’ll play the Ducks who also advanced and are in the finals.
Oh my god, Alex is sitting alone in the arena with the lights off and Emilio Estevez is also in there and noticed her. Will they finally fuck??
Spoiler alert: They didn’t fuck. Not even close.
The Don't Bothers are playing this team called the Lumberjacks and they are very big. There is no way these players are 12-14 years old.
They win, shocker. They’re now playing the Ducks in the finals.
Sofi hurt her knee and may not be able to play. But the rules state they need a 10-player active roster to be eligible and with Sofi, it’s 10. Oh no, what will they do!!!! At least her parents are supportive.
Sofi feels bad that the team has to forfeit because of her so she says she’s playing. The rest of the team say they’re not playing so if they forfeit, it’s because of all of them, not Sofi. A nice team feel-good-moment. I don’t know, I have a feeling they’ll still be allowed to play somehow, I’m not sure why. Just a hunch. And also because there’s still more than half of the episode left.
Oh never mind, the literal next scene is presenting the first place trophy to the Ducks. Man, I’m way off every episode. Hey, at least they finished in second as I predicted earlier.
The Ducks and Don’t Bothers run into each other. They decide to play the next day to see who’s really the best team. If the Ducks win, the Don’t Bothers have to drop out of the league. If the Don’t Bothers win, they get to take the Mighty Ducks’ name.
The Don’t Bothers are up 1-0 after the first period and the Ducks coach tells them to play dirty because there’s only one ref out there. The ref is letting everything go even if he is directly looking at the play. I love this guy, he rules. Just not doing anything whatsoever. Because of that, the Ducks are up 3-1 after the second.
They’re all giving inspirational speeches in the locker room about how they’ve already won. How sweet. They go back out there for the third with the original Mighty Ducks jerseys because Emilio said, “Some friends of mine left something for you guys.” They have the names of the originals as well, may get a bit confusing out there, but oh well.
The Don’t Bothers tied it, very shocking.
Before going out for their last play, Sofi is on the bench with her injured knee and said “Morrow [Evan] one more thing!” and kisses him. Her brown parents are literally in the stands and can see everything. They should absolutely be yelling her name and dragging her off the bench by now. Again, very unrealistic show. I’m in my twenties and I still would get dragged off a bench in public if my parents saw me kiss a boy.
They did the Flying V in the original Mighty Ducks sweater for their last play. How sweet. They score yet another buzzer-beater game-winner, very predictable. The Don’t Bothers win!
UGH. Emilio and Alex never fucked. They didn’t even kiss. They just stared at each other.
I’m so annoyed. This show made a bunch of 12-year-olds kiss but not the two grown-ass adults? I’m so mad.
End of the show. Whatever.
Recap/thoughts
Very annoyed. I’m not in the mood to talk about it.
