It’s a new day! I just happened to be wearing my Mighty Ducks sweater today, I swear it wasn’t planned. Let’s hope this episode is better than the last (I’ve said this like four times in a row now).
We’ll finally be done with the series after next week and I’m getting my vaccine on Friday, so I will be doing the season finale after getting my shot so you all better hope I feel totally fine.
Let’s recap: I’m not sure if Alex and Emilio Estevez are even going to fuck at this point, Alex let the wins get to her head and now the kids want to fire her as a coach, they somehow won a bunch of games and made it to States.
Episode 9: Head Games
Evan fires his mom and she takes it very well. I definitely would not, but I’m not mature.
They’re on the team bus on the way to States and Evan tells the rest of the guys he’s going to ask Sofi to the party with him tonight. I guess there’s some party tonight, I’m not sure. They texted each other from other ends of the bus, and some lost in text translation stuff is going on. I don’t really know what’s happening as I’m not 12 years old.
That girl at Alex’s work, remember from earlier that was kind of rude, her name is Stephanie? She and her husband I guess are going through a divorce. I'm not sure how this is relevant to the show, but I think it wants to show that Alex and she will become friends.
Ok, there’s some stuff happening but it’s literally 12-year old drama. Do I even have the energy to talk about it? Ugh fine, but I’m not happy about it. Evan was asking this girl MJ for advice on how to tell a girl he likes her, MJ thought he was talking about her and said she’ll go to the dance with him, Sofi overhears and gets mad, now Sofi shows up at the party with this dude on the Ducks instead and now Evan is mad. Now Evan dances with MJ to try and make Sofi jealous. Told you, 12-year-old drama.
She’s also wearing a crop top, which NO brown 12-year-old girl’s parents would allow. This show is so unrealistic.
This girl on the team is upset at her new boyfriend that she met 2 hours ago.
What am I even doing here.
Oh ok, so yeah, these writers have literally no idea about hockey. Emilio Estevez just pronounced NCAA as N-C-A-A instead of N-C-double-a. Now Emilio and that asshole coach from the Ducks are bonding too. They’re trying to make everyone bond in this episode for some reason.
Turns out, Coach T wasn’t actually bonding with Emilio but was using him to get info from him. Emilio told him about why he wasn’t able to coach at the NCAA anymore (he helped out a kid without a lot of money which broke rules I guess, pretty messed up system) and now this Youth Organization is here to talk about it because Coach T told them. Evan called his mom who got drunk with Stephanie and slept in the office, she’s on her way with Stephanie. I feel like Stephanie is going to help them because she’s some big shot lawyer.
Somehow the lawyers found a loophole so he’s able to still coach I guess. I don’t totally understand what she’s saying but oh well he can still coach. They all want Alex to join as a coach as well again. Happy moment.
Evan tells Sofi he likes her. How sweet.
Recap/thoughts
What a nice episode with many nice moments. Lots of 12-year-old relationship drama. I was a little uncomfortable. I have a big feeling Emilio and Alex won’t end up fucking and I’ll be EXTREMELY mad. They’re trying to throw a bunch of 12-year-olds flirting in front of my face instead? How dare you, Mighty Ducks producers. How DARE you.
Only one episode left, I couldn’t be happier.
